Job Description: Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator Consultant

Location: Hybrid 3 days onsite in Annapolis, MD; 2 days remote

Work Location: 189 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD (3 days/week) + Remote (2 days/week)

Work Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM EST (Flexible after-hours/weekend support as needed)

Duration: 5-Year Contract (07/01/2025 06/30/2030)

Overview:

We seeks a Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator Consultant to support, secure, and optimize its enterprise RHEL environment. The consultant will lead efforts in patching, automation, security compliance, and system performance tuning across mission-critical applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain RHEL systems across multiple environments.
• Perform upgrades, patching, and hardening to align with cybersecurity policies.
• Use Ansible , Bash , or Python to automate administrative tasks.
• Troubleshoot issues to ensure high system availability and performance.
• Work with Red Hat Satellite , IdM , WebLogic , Apache , Oracle DB , and PeopleSoft .
• Manage storage systems, backups (e.g., Rubrik), and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with security teams on SSH compliance and related remediations.
• Lead root cause analysis and develop solutions for recurring issues.
• Support NFS, mount point configuration, and cron job setups.
• Maintain technical documentation and provide on-call support as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Active RHCSA or RHCE certification.

Preferred:

• 10+ years of Red Hat Linux administration experience.
• 10+ years of experience working with IBM AIX pSeries systems.
• 15+ years overall IT experience.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Automation using Ansible , Bash , and/or Python .
• Red Hat Satellite and Identity Management experience.
• Strong background in networked environments and load balancing.
• Familiarity with tools such as Oracle WebLogic , Oracle DB , Apache , PeopleSoft , vSphere .
• Experience with enterprise backup & restore tools, ideally Rubrik .
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and ensure secure configurations.
