We are seeking a strategic and mission-driven Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CMO serves as the senior clinical leader and is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of clinical operations, quality care delivery, and provider engagement across our health center. This pivotal role integrates clinical expertise with administrative leadership to promote excellence in patient care, provider satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical leadership and strategic direction to align care delivery with the organization's mission, vision, and values
Oversee clinical operations, ensuring accessible, high-quality, patient-centered, and cost-effective care
Balance advocacy for clinicians with the achievement of organizational objectives and sustainability
Champion a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and provider well-being
Partner with senior leadership to execute strategic initiatives and improve care delivery models
Lead performance management for clinical providers, offering mentorship, feedback, and evaluations
Ensure regulatory compliance and support a strong framework for quality, safety, and risk management
Represent the clinical perspective in communications with staff, Board members, and external stakeholders
Maintain direct patient care responsibilities 2 days per week to stay grounded in frontline care
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience
At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare delivery setting (5+ years preferred)
Demonstrated success in meeting clinical quality and access goals
Experience working in a community health center or similar mission-driven environment preferred
Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Athena experience is a plus)
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
High degree of cultural competence, emotional intelligence, and commitment to equity and inclusion
Working knowledge of financial principles including budgeting, productivity metrics, and resource allocation

Effective collaborator with both clinical and non-clinical teams
